        DEPARTURE: On the last day of your adventure, we'll provide ground transportation to Brisbane International Airport (BNE) for your return flight home. You can depart at any time.

        You will travel by commercial airplane flights and motor coach.

      • How strenuous are the activities?Expanded

        This is an active trip with most activities being easy to moderate. Hikes include a 30-minute walk through the rainforest and hiking around parts of the base of Ayer's Rock and the Mala Gorge at the Olgas. These hikes are all on unpaved trails and uneven terrain with minimal uphill. Temperatures may be hot, particularly in the desert, so be prepared with cool clothes, hats and water. You will also have the opportunity to swim, snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, sea-kayak and explore a number of areas by foot. While none of the trip's highlights are strenuous, taken together, the vacation is a physically active experience.

        While we welcome children ages 4 and up on our Australia adventure, we recommend that children be at least 7 years old at the time of travel. We base this on several factors, such as flight time and jet lag, the length and pace of the vacation, the potential for extreme temperatures in summer months, and amount of physical activity involved (e.g., hiking, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking).         Typically, breakfast is served buffet-style. Lunches and dinners usually include a variety of options including fish, meat, and pasta or rice entrées along with vegetables, salad, cheese, desserts and fruit. While the menus have been planned to give you a taste of typical Australian cuisine, they also include familiar American fare. Some lunches and dinners are served buffet style while others offer a limited-choice menu. Because we dine as a group, we regret that á la carte menu choices are not available. Children-friendly options are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability and seasonality of foods.

        In order to give you and your family a chance to dine by yourselves, we've scheduled a few on-your-own meals throughout the vacation. These are planned in towns or cities, where you will have plenty of options available.

      • What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?Expanded

        We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally exceed the stated group maximum size if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.         While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous, most days will include up to 1 hour of walking. The 12-day itinerary is filled with fun, low-impact activities, including Tai Chi lessons and strolls through city streets, historic sites, parks and gardens. Moreover, the itinerary includes visiting 5 different cities in 3 distinct countries that are linked by 4 commercial flights. Flight times range in length from 1 to 2.5 hours. As noted, nearly all of the trip's featured activities are not demanding if examined separately; however, the full range of activities and the length of the journey, combined with warm tropical temperatures and humidity require a moderate amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.

        For U.S. citizens arriving from an area that might be infected with yellow fever, an International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required within 5 days of arriving in China. Otherwise, no vaccinations are required for U.S. citizens, though you should consult your doctor for recommendations. (If you extend your stay to other parts of China, you are advised to consult the Centers for Disease Control for more information.) If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check your local requirements for travel vaccinations for China.

        We will pick you up at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) on your arrival day. Your flight should arrive no later than 3:00 PM. At the end of your adventure, we will transfer you to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) for your return flight home. You may choose to depart the hotel anytime up until hotel check-out time on Day 12.

      • Do I need a passport, visa or other documents?Expanded

        If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need a valid passport to enter South Africa and return to the United States.

        U.S. passport holders traveling to the Republic of South Africa for 90 days or less for tourism or business purposes do not need visas. Your passport must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and must contain at least two blank (unstamped) visa pages each time entry into the country is sought in addition to the endorsement/amendment pages at the back of the passport. Also be sure to allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. Refer to www.state.gov for further details.

        Also, effective June 1, 2015, in addition to passports, guests under the age of 18 are required to travel with an original or certified birth certificate indicating information on the parents of the child. This required documentation must be presented at check-in for each flight in addition to citizenship documentation. Kindly take note as well that Guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent.         Please be advised that if you do not comply with these regulations, you will be blocked from boarding your outbound flight to South Africa and/or forced to return to your original destination at your own expense.       • What airport do I fly into and out of?Expanded

        You will fly into Cape Town International Airport (CPT). International flights into Cape Town generally arrive midday if the flight is routed through a European gateway such as London or Frankfurt. Flights departing East Coast gateways such as Atlanta, Dulles or New York typically arrive in the evening hours in Cape Town. Some flights departing the USA may include a changeover in Johannesburg en route to Cape Town. Regardless of your flight's arrival time you will be met at the Cape Town airport and transferred to your hotel.

        On the final day of the adventure, an early afternoon flight will bring you from Hoedspruit to O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg for your return flight home. To ensure a comfortable connection in Johannesburg, your evening flight should not be scheduled any time prior to 6:00 PM.

        Travel from your hotels to sites in and near Cape Town and within the Garden Route region will be by motor coach. On Day 5, you will fly on a commercially scheduled flight from Cape Town to the Garden Route. On Day 7, you will fly on a commercially scheduled flight from the Garden Route to Hoedspruit via Johannesburg. On Day 10, you will fly on a commercially scheduled flight from Hoedspruit back to Johannesburg.

      • What is the climate like?Expanded

        Since South Africa is situated in the southern hemisphere, its seasons are the reverse of those in North America, with midwinter in June and July and midsummer in December and January. In general, the country enjoys a sunny climate all year round. Cape Town and the southernmost part of the Western Cape have a mild, changeable winter—the time most rainfall occurs—and a warm to hot summer. The winters in the interior regions of the country, including the Kapama Game Reserve, are mostly dry, cool and often chilly at night. Early morning and evening game drives can be quite chilly and adequate warm clothing is required. Many guests find that a wool stretch cap, a scarf and gloves, combined with cool weather layers of clothes, are sufficient to remain comfortable. The game drive vehicles are equipped with wool blankets for covering legs and torsos. Summers are hot and experience more frequent rain.

      • How strenuous are the activities?Expanded

        This is an active trip. However, all the activities are easy, and you can always choose to opt in or out as you wish. There are swimming pools at all 3 hotels; however, none are heated. There may be up to 2 hours of casual walking during a full day of activity in Cape Town and along the Garden Route. There is a short, easy bike ride in the Winelands area on Day 4. Game-viewing on Days 7-10 is enjoyed while riding in 4x4 vehicles. While nearly all of the trip's featured activities are gentle if enjoyed separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.

        Most of this adventure takes place at altitudes ranging from 8,000 to 12,500 ft. (2,400 to 3,800 m.) above sea level. Because the adventure starts in Lima (at sea level) and then continues to the lower Sacred Valley (9,200 ft. or 2,800 m.) and Machu Picchu (8,000 ft. or 2,400 m.), you have a chance to get slightly acclimated before you reach the higher elevation of Cusco (11,200 ft. or 3,400 m.).

        During the summer months, the weather in Italy is warm, with highs during the day at 90°F (32.2°C), and around 60°F (15.5°C), at night. You can expect sunshine and very little rainfall.

The regulations impose seasonal restrictions on heating and cooling systems. This means that all lodgings, from 5-star deluxe hotels to modest farmhouses, are subject to strict energy restrictions.         During the summer months of June through September, the weather in Alaska is warm and pleasant, with temperatures between 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit (16-27 degrees Celsius), and nighttime temperature at around 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7 degrees Celsius). Occasionally, Denali National Park and Preserve may have highs above 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius).         We will make every reasonable effort to operate vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally exceed the stated group's maximum size, if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

        If we cancel your trip prior to its commencement because there are too few Guests: (i) We will attempt to rebook you on another departure of the same itinerary, subject to availability, and we will bear any reasonable airline rebooking charges; however, if we are unable to rebook you, we will issue a full refund of your land package price and plan (unless you have filed a claim); and (ii) if you booked airfare through us, we will issue a full refund of your airfare; and (iii) if you did not book airfare through us, we will reimburse you for your reasonable out-of-pocket (subject to proof) airline cancellation charges or, in the case of bookings using frequent flier miles, a reasonable cancellation service fee, provided you have exercised best efforts to mitigate such charges/fees; and (iv) the aforesaid payments and/or rebooking by us shall constitute a full settlement.

        ARRIVAL: Early arrivers to Phoenix International Airport (PHX) can grab lunch at one of the many fine dining or quick-serve restaurants in Terminal 4 as this will be your last chance to eat a meal before you and your fellow Adventurers leave for Sedona at 1:30 PM, and dinner won't be served until the evening. We are providing only ONE group transfer from Phoenix to Sedona, departing Terminal 4 at 1:30 PM. Adventure Guides will have light snacks and bottled water aboard the coach.

        DEPARTURE: On the final day of the itinerary, we will transfer you to Walker Field Airport (GJT) in Grand Junction, Colorado. Your flight should leave no earlier than 11:00 AM.

For the Arizona and Utah trip, there is 1 group transfer that is included from the Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Phoenix to the Enchantment Resort in Sedona via Montezuma Castle National Monument (a 3-4 hour drive and activity). On your departure day, 1 group transfer is available from the Red Cliffs Lodge to the Walker Field Airport (GJT) in Grand Junction, Colorado (a 2-hour drive).

The hike in Arches National Park consists of a steady uphill ascent with an approximate 500' elevation gain (and loss on the descent) on a surface of smooth stone, dirt and gravel. As an alternative to the hike, a motor coach excursion in Arches National Park is available. Temperatures may be hot and, at times, under exposed terrain, so wear cool clothing and a hat, and drink plenty of water.         In the winter, temperature in Wyoming typically range from 0° to 20°F (-20° - -5°C), often dropping in the evening and as you approach higher elevations. These temperatures are extremely cold and since the majority of your time will be spent outdoors, you should plan on being exposed to the elements throughout much of your vacation. Please reference the packing list above to ensure you are properly attired for your winter vacation.

Temperatures in Jackson and Yellowstone can be extremely cold and one should feel comfortable spending the majority of your time exploring the outdoors in this type of environment. Guests should plan on drinking plenty of water and taking time to acclimate to the environment if you are not used to these types of elevations.

        Adventure Guide Gratuities
        Gratuities for your Adventure Guides are not included. Based on the quality of service you have received, we suggest the following gratuity guidelines. Please note that this is for each member of your traveling party, per Adventure Guide, per day.

        Per Adult/Child/Per Adventure Guide/Per Day—$7 - $10 USD

        Example:
        •  For an 5-day adventure, the Adventure Guide gratuity per Guest, per Adventure Guide: $35 - $50 USD.
        •  A family of 4 for an 5-day adventure: $140 - $200 USD per Adventure Guide.

        For two guides, this is a total of $280 - $400 USD.

        The Adventure Guides gratuity can be paid in U.S dollars, local currency, travelers' checks or PayPal. Please check with your Adventure Guide if they accept PayPal.

        All Other Gratuities
        Gratuities have been taken care of on your behalf for all services included in the itinerary. There is no need for you to worry about tipping the bellmen, housekeepers, waiters, drivers and local experts.

      • What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?Expanded

        We will make every reasonable effort to operate vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally exceed the stated group's maximum size, if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

        If we cancel your trip prior to its commencement because there are too few Guests: (i) We will attempt to rebook you on another departure of the same itinerary, subject to availability, and we will bear any reasonable airline rebooking charges; however, if we are unable to rebook you, we will issue a full refund of your land package price and plan (unless you have filed a claim); and (ii) if you booked airfare through us, we will issue a full refund of your airfare; and (iii) if you did not book airfare through us, we will reimburse you for your reasonable out-of-pocket (subject to proof) airline cancellation charges or, in the case of bookings using frequent flier miles, a reasonable cancellation service fee, provided you have exercised best efforts to mitigate such charges/fees; and (iv) the aforesaid payments and/or rebooking by us shall constitute a full settlement.

  • How do I make my reservation?Expanded

When you make your reservation, a deposit of 10% of the vacation package price per Guest is required, and the remainder of the payment is due 120 days prior to your departure date.

  • What is included in the cost of the land package?Expanded

    Included in your Adventures by Disney vacation are:

  • Can Adventures by Disney help reserve an extra night before or after the adventure dates?Expanded

    If you wish, we can reserve an extra night either before or after most adventures at the first and last hotel included in your adventure, subject to availability. If available, this allows you to stay in the same room as on your adventure. For early arrivals or extended stays purchased through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, a transfer from/to the specified airports for the adventure will be provided; however, transfers are provided only for extended stays purchased through us. Please refer to the destination-specific FAQs and Trip Tips for each itinerary or contact a Vacationista for more information and exact availability on your adventure's departure date. Our special rates for these additional nights are subject to availability and are only available if booked through Adventures by Disney Travel Services in conjunction with a land package and cannot be combined with any other offer.

  • What if I need to cancel my reservation?Expanded

    Cancellations can be made by telephone or in writing. The time of cancellation will be the date upon which Adventures by Disney Travel Services receives notice from you. If you fail to execute and return the Adventure Travel Agreement to us no later than 14 calendar days after booking, it will be deemed a cancellation by you. If you make changes to the vacation commencement date or chosen vacation, it will be deemed a cancellation by you. If you cancel, amounts paid, minus cancellation fees and nonrefundable amounts, will be promptly refunded. Regardless of when you book, your deposit is refundable for 14 calendar days after original booking. You must notify us if you decide to cancel within this 14 calendar day period.

    Unless stated otherwise in your Guest Confirmation, the following cancellation policy shall apply:

    The cancellation fees set forth above shall apply irrespective of resale by us. In addition to the cancellation fees stated above, the cancellation fees that will apply if you cancel a pre- or post-stay hotel night booked through us will follow the schedule above for cancelled vacation packages: 119-90 days: 50% of the total hotel cost for all nights reserved; 89-46 days: 75% of the total hotel cost for all nights reserved; 45 days or less: 100% of the total hotel cost for all nights reserved. The cancellation terms above apply only to the vacation package price and pre-/post-stay hotel night add-ons, and exclude, among other things, cancellation charges from air carriers.

    For reservations made prior to January 1, 2016, the cancellation fees assessed will be based on the cancellation fees listed on the original Guest Confirmation unless the vacation commencement date or the chosen vacation package is modified or a new Guest is added to the reservation.

    Yes. The Adventures by Disney Vacation Protection Plan was designed to help protect your vacation investment. Below is a brief summary of what the plan includes:

    • Trip cancellation and Trip interruption (up to total trip cost $20,000 maximum) if you cancel or interrupt due to sickness, injury, death, or other covered reason.
    • Trip delay, baggage loss and delays, travel accidents, emergency medical and dental services, medical emergency evacuation. Click here for more information about the Vacation Protection Plan.

    You may elect to purchase the Plan at the time of booking or at any time prior to, or at time of, final payment. If you purchase and pay for the Plan in full within 14 days of the initial trip deposit/payment (but no later than when final payment is made), certain pre-existing medical conditions may also be covered; however, if you purchase and pay in full for the Plan more than 14 days after the initial trip deposit/payment (but no later than when final payment is made), pre-existing medical conditions will not be covered.   • Can a Vacationista book my flight?Expanded

    Air transportation can be purchased from Adventures by Disney to and from your home airport in accordance with the scheduled vacation dates and to coordinate with your adventure itinerary. Please note that our Vacationistas can only make domestic US flight reservations. Contact a Vacationista for details. Canadian consumers should book through their local travel agent.

  • Are there luggage restrictions?Expanded

    Our recommendation? Pack lightly. Many guests find they pack too many clothes and personal items. Each guest is restricted to one checked bag and, one personal item plus one small bag per ticketed person, as specified by your air carrier. With frequent security changes, we recommend that you check with your air carrier as well as the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) website www.tsa.gov for current restrictions

  • What documentation will I receive in advance of my vacation?Expanded

    •A reservation confirmation packet will be mailed shortly after you book your Adventures by Disney vacation.
    •An acknowledgement upon receipt of your final payment.
    •Final travel planning documents will be mailed approximately 45 days before your trip start date. These documents will include the detailed itinerary of your vacation, as well as information to help you prepare for your vacation.

  • What can I expect the hotel rooms on my adventure to be like?Expanded

    Hotel rooms vary from country to country as well as from hotel to hotel within an adventure. Most hotel rooms outside of the United States tend to be smaller than the U.S. standard. In many locations, amenities such as irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, and alarm clocks are either not allowed due to local laws or are simply not standard. Air conditioning systems in international hotels rooms are generally not as robust as those in the U.S. While we seek to choose hotels that will feel the most familiar to you, this is not always possible. Standard rooms in most European hotels are comprised of two standard-sized double beds (or a king upon request); queen-sized beds are generally not available. In many European hotels, local codes prohibit four-person occupancy in one standard-size room. We regret that it is not possible to upgrade accommodations included in the land package.   • Are passports, visas, or other documentation required for international travel? Expanded

    Depending on your country of origin and your vacation destination, passports and/or visas may be required with at least 6 months validity after the end of your trip.

    You can apply for a passport and visa through CIBT, Inc., a third party travel document company servicing the travel industry (not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company).     It is your sole responsibility to be sure you have the correct documentation for all travel. Allow sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport.   • Do I need special documentation to travel with Children? Expanded

    Some countries on Adventures by Disney vacations have specific entry requirements for children under 17 who are traveling internationally without both parents. Usually, a notarized letter, signed by the parent or parents not traveling with the child and stating the child's name, adult guardian's name, itinerary, dates of travel, and flight information, is required. To ensure smooth travel, Adventures by Disney requires all travelers to comply with the regulations for the country you are visiting. This information is available from each country's consulate. Adventures by Disney is not responsible for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for any travelers, including children traveling without both parents. For specific documentation requirements, U.S. residents, consult www.state.gov or the applicable foreign consulate. Non-U.S. citizens, please check with your consulate.   • Do I need vaccinations to travel internationally? Expanded

    In general, U.S. citizens traveling from the United States do not require vaccinations to travel to any of Adventures by Disney destinations. For the Adventures by Disney vacation to China and Germany, for U.S. citizens arriving from an area that might be infected with Yellow Fever, an International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required within 5 days -- otherwise no vaccinations are required for U.S. citizens. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check your local requirements for vaccinations for travel.

    If you extend your vacation on any of our adventures, you are advised to consult www.cdc.gov or your physician for vaccinations or other medical precautions.

  • Can you accommodate special dietary needs?Expanded

    Adventures by Disney will make a reasonable effort to accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge. Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate all special dietary needs requested. Please contact a Vacationista in advance of your departure to advise us of your needs.
