      If you are a U. S. citizen, you will need a valid passport to enter Germany and return to the United States. It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have 1-2 blank pages remaining. Allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. Refer to the U.S. Department of State for further details.

      In addition, Guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent.

      You do not need a visa to travel to Germany.

      Please limit your baggage to 1 piece of luggage per person plus 1 carry-on. With frequent security changes, we recommend that you check with your air carrier as well as with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for current restrictions.

      Since a majority of your adventure will take place outdoors, your attire should be comfortable. Most attire is casual, although one "smart casual" outfit is recommended.

      Although weather might vary, the area you will be traveling through in Germany generally has a moderate amount of rain. Average temperatures for Munich, Rothenburg and Berlin are as follows:

    • Arrival/Departure InformationExpanded

      After arriving at Munich Airport (MUC), you may pass through Immigration and Passport Control. This is dependent on your departure city and where your flight connections were. Follow airport signage to Baggage Claim. Retrieve your luggage and exit the Baggage Claim area by passing through Customs and then into the main terminal. As soon as you arrive in the Arrivals Hall of the terminal, look for a representative holding an orange Adventures by Disney sign. This representative is available to assist you with your luggage and will escort you to your prearranged ground transportation to your hotel. At the conclusion of your adventure, you will be transferred from the Regent Berlin to Berlin Tegel International Airport (TXL) for your return flight home.

      The unit of currency in Germany is the Euro (EUR). U.S. dollars are not accepted at hotels, shops or restaurants, but ATM machines are available in most places along your adventure to obtain cash in Euros. Most hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards or single-use debit cards.

      Example:
      •  For a 9-day adventure, the Adventure Guide gratuity per Guest, per Adventure Guide: $72 - $99 USD.
      •  A family of 4 for a 9-day adventure: $288 - $396 USD per Adventure Guide.

      For 2 Adventure Guides, this is a total of $576 – 792 USD.

      The Adventure Guides gratuity can be paid in U.S dollars, local currency, travelers' checks or PayPal. Please check with your Adventure Guide if they accept PayPal.

      All Other Gratuities
      Gratuities have been taken care of on your behalf for all services included in the itinerary. There is no need for you to worry about tipping the bellmen, housekeepers, waiters, drivers and local experts.

  • Do I need vaccinations to travel to this country?Expanded

    If you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need vaccinations to travel to Germany. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check your local requirements on vaccinations for travel to Germany.

  • What airport do I fly into and out of?Expanded

    Arrival: We will pick you up from Munich Airport (MUC) on your arrival day. Your flight should arrive no later than 2:00 PM.

    Departure: At the end of your adventure, we will transfer you to Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL). Your flight should depart no earlier than 8:00 AM.

  • Are transfers included if I arrive or depart from different locations or at different times from the itinerary?Expanded

    No. Transfers are only included from the specified arrival/departure airports and hotels. For Germany, transfers are included from Munich to Kempinski on your arrival day. On your departure day, transfers are included from Regent Berlin to Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL).

    Yes, you may stay in Germany before or after our itinerary. Pre/post night stays in Munich and Berlin are available at special rates if booked through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc. in conjunction with a land package and cannot be combined with any other offer.     Your group will travel by motor coach and train between cities and between sites.

  • How strenuous are the activities?Expanded

    While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous, most days will include one or more hours of walking, often on uneven ground or cobblestone streets. A number of the destinations require climbing stairs. There is also a bike-riding activity on a gentle, paved path. Many days will have motor coach trips between destinations that last one or more hours. While nearly all of the trip's featured activities are relatively easy if examined separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.

  • What ages are appropriate for this adventure?Expanded

    While we welcome children ages 6 and up at the time of travel to discover the stories of the world with us, we recommend that children be at least 8 years old at the time of travel on our Germany trip. This is based on several factors, such as flight time and jet lag, time zone differences in the destination, duration of the vacation and amount of physical activity (e.g., walking, biking) involved.   • What types of meals are served on this Adventures by Disney Trip?Expanded

    Typically, breakfast is served buffet style. Dinners and lunches usually include fish, meat (pork is a common option at many meals), and pasta or rice entrées, soup and vegetables, along with desserts and fruit. While the menus have been planned to give you a taste of typical German cuisine, they are always balanced with limited American fare. Some meals on this trip are served buffet style while others offer a limited-choice menu. Given the nature of group travel, we regret that á la carte menu choices are not available. Children-friendly choices are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability and seasonality of foods. In order to offer you and your family a bit of time to enjoy meals among yourselves, there are a few meals that are not included in the itinerary. These meals have been planned in towns or cities where you will have plenty of options available. If you have any questions or concerns about dining at any time during your vacation, your Adventure Guides will be happy to assist you.

  • Is alcohol included with meals?Expanded

    Alcoholic beverages are typically not included with your scheduled meals. However, you may purchase them at your own expense.

  • Can you accommodate special dietary needs?Expanded

    Adventures by Disney will make a reasonable effort to accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge.   • Is this itinerary appropriate for travelers with special needs?Expanded

    Please note that this vacation includes activities that present certain challenges to Guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing assistance.   • What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?Expanded

    We will make every reasonable effort to operate the vacations as advertised; however, we reserve the right to curtail or modify the itinerary, or to substitute activities, hotels, meals or transportation as we deem necessary. We further reserve the right to reduce the number of Adventure Guides to one, and to modify other services to accommodate a smaller group, if a minimum number of Guests is not reached. Similarly, we may marginally exceed the stated group maximum size if necessary to accommodate a family. Please also note that during certain holidays and peak periods, some activities may be disrupted or unavailable. None of these modifications or changes shall affect the land package price. We reserve the right to cancel a trip at any time prior to its commencement for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests, or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in our opinion, be compromised, such as may result from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel your trip prior to its commencement because there are too few Guests: (i) we will attempt to re-book you on another departure of the same itinerary, subject to availability, and we will bear any reasonable airline re-booking charges; however, if we are unable to rebook you, we will issue a full refund of your land package price and Plan (unless you have filed a claim); and (ii) if you booked airfare through us, we will issue a full refund of your airfare; and (iii) if you did not book airfare through us, we will reimburse you for your reasonable out-of-pocket (subject to proof) airline cancellation charges or, in the case of bookings using frequent flier miles, a reasonable cancellation service fee, provided you have exercised best efforts to mitigate such charges/fees; and (iv) the aforesaid payments and/or rebooking by us shall constitute a full settlement.
